10000 monkeys versus pirate robots
Or why you should stop doubting yourself and post your human made art
This is not a discussion, is just my open invitation for you to finally write that story, draw those characters, paint that image that you have in your mind.
There was this saying that “10,000 monkeys in typewriters would eventually write Shakespeare “. But we always knew that wasn’t true. Maybe they would have an opportunity to explore and write expressing themselves like Koko, but theres always the risk of blowing out the finale like Game of Thrones. And that wasn’t done by chance.
You see, speaking about randomness, you can shuffle a deck of cards and all the outcome options are possible and statistically the same possibility, and still we know the deck won’t come out shuffled as if it was unshuffled, or organized backwards. If that happened we would know a magician had just played a trick on us because although it is statistically valid, we know it’s impossible. Theres no way you would flip a coin 50 times and get heads all the time. It’s statistically and mathematically an option, but it will never happen. (And if you do please get it on video as it would be pretty cool).
It also tells us that if people are interested in seeing a bad mashup of lines and texts then you should not be waiting to put your stories and drawings out there. Do it now. Because they will be bad? No. Because people are looking for novelty, they are squinting so hard at an oil slick to see something that calls their attention. Give them a hand, go make some art.
We know there are a lot of bad copies of original stories and eons of reposts of something that was funny time ago. People want to be entertained, to let themselves go in your world. Put it out there, start building the egregore and dive deep because you don’t know what you will find until you reach out into the darkness of your ideas and find it there.
And if you don’t feel like posting it don’t worry. Do it for yourself, you are important and worthy of your art and your world. Enjoy exploring and whenever you feel ready, I would love to know about what you find
Have a great day everyone
Mimo
P.S. I write a bit more about creative stuff like this in a pdf magazine that you can download for free at Oopart.Love . You can also subscribe for the next editions coming out pretty soon. I would love to hear your thoughts if you get it. Thank you
Coming out soon: Echoes

100%.
No amount of monkeys ever. Random chance will always end up just looking random.
Let's have humans making art, not machines. Humans loving humans, not machines. I'd rather read a crap poem by a human who is trying than a brilliant facsimile by a robot.
Thank you for encouraging people, to give them confidence.
Thank you also for a cool use of the concept of the egregore.
